THE STORY.

I was obsessed with a game called UFC Undisputed 3 back in my high school years. One of those cheap ciplak (bootleg) CDs someone in the family picked up.

Since then, I got hooked on martial arts, especially Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu — but I never trained.

Then came adult life. The 8–5 routine. Waking up before the sun, coming home after dark. It was comfortable, but I was on autopilot. It was… meh.

One day, I randomly remembered that game and asked myself: Why not try BJJ for real this time?

So I stepped into a BJJ gym in Kota Kinabalu. As the usual story goes, the new kid got wrecked on day one. I walked out with bruises all over my body. And like any sane man would… I kept showing up.

A year later and a few irritating leg lock sprains — I earned my blue belt. I kid you not, it was one of the best days of my life.

Getting that blue belt means I can finally retire from BJJ.

(Nah, I’m just kidding.)

THE START.

ODYSSEUS started as a personal itch I couldn’t ignore.

A year into BJJ, I realized I couldn’t find something that I truly clicked.

Some brands looked slick online, but felt cheap in your hands. Others were well-built, but quite expensive. And others are just plain simple.

I wanted something that looks cool but not cringey. And I figured — I’m probably not the only one.

So I thought: what if I built a brand I wish existed?

Lo and behold, ODYSSEUS was born.

THE FUTURE.

I don’t have a five-year business plan. But I do have a dream and it’s a simple one.

I want to walk into a gym, or pass someone eating at a mamak, and see them wearing ODYSSEUS.

I want them to feel connected to the story behind the brand — because deep down, I believe many can relate to it in their own way.

That’s the goal. Not to be the biggest, but to be a community-driven brand.

If ODYSSEUS can be part of someone’s journey, even just a few — that’s already a win.
